The Detroit Lions have not hosted a Monday Night Game in 10 years when they were still playing in the Silver Dome. Monday the Lions attempted to repay the loyal fans that have had to watch miserable football over those last 10 years, and the Lions did not disappoint, defeating the Division Rival Bears 24-13.
The game started slowly, but then took off in the beginning of the second quarter when Stafford hit Megatron on a 73 yard touchdown pass giving the Lions a 7 to nothing lead. However the Bears were able to take the lead right before the half with Cutler leading Chicago on a touchdown drive with a minute and change to go.
Detroit retook the lead with an 18 yard touchdown pass to Pettigrew making it 14-10. Then the Lions got their first significant rush of the season when Jahvid Best ran 88 yards untouched for a touchdown giving the Lions a 21-10 lead.
With the Lions moving to 5-0 they are able to keep pace with the Packers who are also 5-0. Next week they face another tough opponent at home, the 4-1 San Francisco 49ers.
