Week 6: Lions at Eagles

After winning their first game in a comeback fashion, the Lions have fallen to 1-3 and are now coming off their bye hungry for a win that can turn their season around. However, if the Lions lose and drop to 1-4, they will be in an almost unrecoverable hole. Their week six matchup which is a must win is in Philadelphia against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are 3-2, but could easily be much worse, their three wins were won by a combined margin of four points. They have had problems holding onto the ball, so the Lions will need to be aggressive and attack the ball to try and force turnovers. Offensively, the Lions shouldn’t have a problem against the Eagles, the Eagles have a highly acclaimed pass rush, but this season they have only sacked the quarterback seven times.

The Lions will need to be prepared to contain LeSean McCoy and not give him opportunities to reverse field. If the Lions can keep containment on run plays and prevent McCoy from breaking big runs, then Andy Reid will likely resort to a heavy dose of passes. The Lions secondary is weak, but Vick is prone to turning the ball over. The Lions need an all around effort in order for them to leave Philadelphia with a victory that can potentially save their season.
