After starting the season with a dismal 1-3 record, the Lions hope to complete their recovery to an even record by defeating the Jaguars and escaping the first half of their season with a 4-4 record. Last week we called out Matthew Stafford for his slow start, and he responded (not to us) by having what we thought was his best game of the season, and that was without Calvin Johnson having a Megatron performance. We hope that Stafford can build on what he did last week, and this is a great week to do so, because he will be going against one of the worst ranked defenses in football.

We¬†understand¬†that all the NFL teams are professional teams and anyone can win on any given day, but we don’t want to hear that crap tomorrow, this is a game that the Lions should, and must win. The Jaguars are 1-6 and will be without their best player, Maurice Jones-Drew, if the Jaguars find a way to pull off an upset and send the Lions home with a 3-5 record, then I’ll be telling you tomorrow that the season is over. It won’t actually be over, but when you start out as poorly as the Lions did, these games become must wins. Hopefully the Lions can build on their win from last week.
