Lions down the Jets in pre-season opener, 23-3

Football was back in Detroit!

In the Lions first game (albeit preseason) since THAT playoff loss, they downed the New York Football Jets by a score of 23-3.  Impressive performances by Ameer Abdullah and Greg Salas contributed to the home win.  Abdullah had 7 carries for 67 yards, including a 45-yard stormer.  Golden Tate played in the opening drive and he was, well he was just Golden Tate, amazing.

In the fight for the team’s no. 3 receiver, Greg Salas impressed to have 5 receptions for 92 yards.

(Sidenote and joke: True Lions fans will of course know the ‘If you start 4-0 in the pre-season, you actually go 0-16 in the regular season’ rule, so let’s hope for at least one pre-season loss)
